 Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague

  

On April 6, 2004, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Ion Iliescu, President of Romania, the Romanian Cultural Institute in the Czech Republic was inaugurated.

This event has a special importance in developing and diversifying Romanian – Czech cultural relations, in promoting Romanian culture in the Central European region.

An exhibition of tapestry and a concert of the Quartet of the Romanian Broadcasting took place on the occasion of the opening of the Institute. Also, the Union of Plastic Artists of Romania donated several paintings to the Institute.

On the same day, a memorial plaque of Romanian ruler Michael the Brave was unveiled on the building of the Embassy of Romania in Prague.
