Gross Domestic Product
estimated for 2005 was RON 287186.3 million current
prices, increasing in real terms by 4.1% as against 2004.
The growth was significantly determined by the size
of activity volume and, consequently, of gross value added in
construction (+9.9%) and services (+8.1%)
whose contribution to Gross Domestic Product was 54.8%.
Total final consumption registered a
growth of 8.5% in 2005 in comparison with the previous year; actual
final consumption of population households increased by 9%.
Gross fixed capital formation registered
a growth of 13%. Investment rate determined by its ratio to gross
value added per economy was 26.2% in 2005 (24.3 % in 2004).
The value of net export was in 2005 -
RON 29792.3 million, more than in 2004, as a result of higher growth
of imports volume for goods and services (+17.2%) as compared to
that of exports of goods and services (+7.6%).
Gross index of
industrial
production
increased in January 2006 by 4.2% as against January
2005; the same growth was registered in manufacturing as well.
Labour productivity
in industry was by 8.0% higher in January 2006, as
compared to January 2005.
Total turnover 1) of enterprises having
industry as main activity registered in January 2006, in real terms,
a growth of 6.9% as against the same month of 2005.
In January 2005,
main
resources of primary energy
amounted to 3504.1 thousand tones equivalent oil 2),
of which 2221.9 thousand tons equivalent oil from domestic
production.
1) Total turnover comes from main
activity and from secondary activities of industrial-type
enterprises.
2) Conventional fuel with calorific
power of 10 000 kcal/kg.
Investments
achieved in the economy in 2005 accounted for RON
37392.9 million, increasing in real terms by 13.4% as against 2004.
In 2005, the value of
construction works
was RON 26491.5 million, increasing by 9.8% as
against 2004. New construction works of RON 16490.6 million
represented 62.2% of total construction value.
Works of capital repairs amounted to RON
3957.4 million (15.0% of total value of construction works) and
works of maintenance and current repairs achieved in existent
buildings and construction represented 22.8%.
In January 2006, value of construction
works increased by 19.9% as against January 2005.
In 2005, 43542
construction licences
were released for residential buildings, out of
which, those for one dwelling residential buildings represented
98.1% as against total. Residential buildings, for which
construction authorizations were released, comprised, according to
the projects, 49795 dwellings, having an useful area of 7292.9
thousand square meters.
In January 2006, 1573 authorizations for
residential buildings were released.
The dwellings finished
in 2005 amounted to 32368, increasing by 2241 as
against 2004.
3793 dwellings were carried out from
budgetary funds. The number of dwellings finished from population
funds in this period was by 1780 higher than in 2004, this category
further holding the
highest weight (82.9% of total finished
dwellings).
On December 31, 2005, 89658 dwellings
were under various stages of construction works, 40.8% of them being
were under an advanced stage of finalization.
In January 2006, turnover volume of enterprises
having as main activity
retail
trade
(except trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) was
by 32.3% over the level registered in January 2005, higher growths
being obtained both fro sales of non-food good (+33.8%) and food
goods (+30.6 %).
Turnover volume of enterprises having as main
activity
wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of
motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuel for motor
vehicles
registered in January 2006 was by 13.6% higher than
in January 2005, being supported both by higher turnover of retail
trade of fuel for motor vehicles (+15.3%) and by that obtained from
trade and maintenance of motor vehicles (+12.5%).
In January 2006, the activity of
market
services rendered to the population
pointed out a turnover by 7.6% lower than in the same
month of 2005.
In the fourth quarter of 2005,
average
number of pensioners
was 5905 thousands, decreasing by 112 thousands as
against the third quarter of 2005.
Social insurance pensioners represented
99.6% of total pensioners in this category; in comparison with the
third quarter 2005, number of state social insurance pensioners
increased by 9 thousand persons and that of farmers pensioners
decreased by 121 thousands.
In the fourth quarter of 2005, monthly average
pension of state social insurance pensioners was RON 277, increasing
by 2.6% as against the third quarter of 2005.
The ratio between average state social
insurance pension for age limit, full contribution stage (without
tax) and net average earning was 48.6% in the fourth quarter of
2005.
According to the data provided by the National Agency
for Employment,
number of
unemployed registered
at the end of January 2006 was 548.0 thousands. In
comparison with January 2005, number of unemployed registered at
employment agencies was by 14.7 thousands lower. Out of total
registered unemployed, women represented 40.5 %.
Unemployment rate
registered in January 2006 was 6.2% in relation to
total civil active population (6.4% in January 2005). Female
unemployment rate was 5.3% (5.6% in January 2005)
and male unemployment rate was 7.0%
(7.1% in January 2005).
Higher unemployment rates were registered in the
counties: Ialomița (13.1%), Vaslui (11.0%), Gorj (10.2%), Mehedinți
(10.1%) and Hunedoara (10.0%). The lowest unemployment rates were
noticed in the counties: Ilfov and Timiș (2.4% each), Bihor (2.9%),
as well as in Bucharest Municipality (2.7%). |
