Economic relations between Romania and the Czech Republic are continuously developing. Trade exchanges increased by 85% in the last three years. Goods exchanges exceeded 960 million Euros in 2005.

Production co-operation is developing, especially in machinery industry and electrical engineering industry. There is special interest for the production co-operation with Czech companies for projects of modernisation of thermoelectric power plants in Romania and for energetic objectives in third countries.
